MDSPCA and New Favorites!

I had my first day volunteering at the MDSPCA Saturday and it went really well! My favorite dog (who was thankfully already adopted) was a small pit bull that had been completely covered in paint. The SPCA had to shave off all of her hair to get the paint off, and there were spots where her skin had been rubbed raw. Her name was Picasso. I took her out in one of the fenced in areas and sat down on the cement. She plopped right down on my lap, legs dangling awkwardly off :)

I also walked this guy named Bruno (who is still looking for a home). So adorable!

It's a rainy Monday here, but the forecast for the weekend has me very happy :)

Monday Already?!

I guess time flies when you're having fun! I had a really good weekend. The weather was warmer than it's been all year, so that helped a lot!

Friday night was dinner with Karim, Jackie and Scott at the amazing Golden West Cafe. Clearly the best part of the food was the vegan carrot cake with lavender cream cheese frosting. That's right, lavender. Who would have guessed it would be delicious? It was!!

Saturday I went to a class about gardening with Abby. She wants to have a vegetable garden this year! There were some good tips for sure. Fortunately for me, my parents always grow way more than they can eat, so I get awesome fresh vegetables all summer long!

Afterwards I stopped by the mall to try to find a dress for the second wedding I have this Spring. No luck there, but I did go to Sephora and pick up these Tarina Tarantino beauty goodies!!

Then Saturday night Karim and I went Cosmic Bowling with my roommates and a few of their friends. We got home around 1:30am, after Karim and I (the voluntary DD's) drove the drunkies for a pit stop at Royal Farms for breakfast sandwiches. Apparently I'm old now, because going to bed after 2 made me feel like a party animal, although the reason I was up so late was bowling!

Yesterday I went for a volunteer orientation at the MDSPCA. It seemed really great, and the volunteer manager was so nice, educated and helpful. I'm looking forward to it! PS the dog pictured is Raven, I got her picture from the MDSPCA website! I want to walk and play with dogs, but I also want to help out with taking pictures of the dogs available for adoption. I love taking pictures of Lily and think it would be a fun job!

Oh yeah, and I purposely got to Hampden early so I could sneak over to Double Dutch Boutique. I love it more and more every time I visit! Here are the goodies I walked away with!

It's going to be sunny and in the high 50's here today! I'm stuck at work (and without a car since I had to take my Camry in for the recall today, boo!) but I'm going to make the most of it! I'll be going for a walk at lunch for sure! Have a great week :)
