Happy Hump Day!

Earlier this week I FINALLY ordered a Fuji Instax Mini in chocolate!! I have been wanting one for over a month now, but kept debating because of the price. I was originally going to order from Urban Outfitters, but they only had the white one. I found the brown one for an even cheaper price elsewhere and the film was cheaper too! I'm so happy I was able to find the chocolate colored one! It isn't supposed to ship for 1-3 weeks, but I'm already so excited to get it!
I've even started looking for a new cute pouch to keep it in. I'm thinking something similar to this.
A few weeks ago I ordered these two pouches for my lip gloss from the same Etsy Shop (The Dainty Squid) and was very pleased with them.

And on an unrelated note (other than it involves me spending money when I shouldn't be, but that's always a theme!) Tarina Tarantino has been my favorite jewelry designer since about 2000. I just can't get enough of her sparkly styles.
Right now I'm eyeing up the City Girl LA Mod Ring in silver. This is part of a new collection where Tarina is going to be designing pieces based on her favorite cities from around the world. LA is where she lives and where her jewelry is made (she calls it the Sparkle Factory), so that was the first city she chose. The woman reminds me of Kat Von D. I don't really watch her show regularly, but she seems awesome from what I've seen.
PS I upgraded my Etsy shop to a seller account!! I'm so excited! I have some handmade cards and hair flowers that I want to list soon. I just need to get some pictures of the hair flowers actually in my hair (makes sense right?!). More on that soon :)

Someone has a case of the Mondays :)

I came across these sweet little pumpkins this morning on Etsy. They're handmade from Polymer clay and so adorable. I want them to put on my nightstand for October!

Also, this tutu is the cutest! It makes me want to be a ballerina for Halloween!

And I'm still digging my new haircut and color :)

Happy Monday :)

Sharon Montrose

Sharon Montrose is a wonderful photographer that specializes in capturing images of animals in a very unique way. Recently she listed some adorable puppy pictures on her blog, and I couldn't help but share a few because they made me smile. Her blog features tons of adorable dog photos. I can't get enough of them! She also sells her beautiful photos on Etsy, and it's not hard to see why she has had over 2,000 sales.

These are two of my favorites from her shop :)

Beach Time and a Giveaway!

Tamara from Block Party Press and Block Party Prints is having another giveaway! This time it's on the blog Sweeter Than Me. Two winners will be chosen and one will get a print and the other a magnet set. Crossing my fingers for this one! I really really want the Sew In Love print! In related new, I took my beach ball ring where it belongs this weekend - to the beach! Saturday was really cold and windy. Sandra and I were on the beach for five hours in sweatshirts, pants and wrapped in towels the whole time! Fortunately Sunday and Monday were much nicer, and I could actually wear a bathing suit on the beach! Got some weird burnt spots (one side of my neck and my ankles) due to a poor sunblock application, but overall it's not too bad. Could have been a lot worse. Another highlight of the weekend is that Dirty Dancing was on TV both nights!! I am so sad Patrick Swayze passed away but oh so happy they are playing Dirty Dancing a ton now.

OC!!

My sister, Sandra, and I are headed to Ocean City, Maryland this weekend! Hopefully the weather will cooperate! I don't necessarily want to, but if needed, I'm willing to lay on the beach in a sweatshirt with a blanket. Here is out itinerary: wake up, free continental breakfast at the hotel(!), beach time, Subway for lunch, beach again, Tequila Mockingbird for dinner and margaritas, going to sleep. Sounds like the perfect vacation to me!!!
I know I need to quit it with the faux Polaroids, but I made this one last week to send to Sandra!

Block Party Prints

The talented artist behind Block Party Press has just opened up another Etsy shop called Block Party Prints. I always admired her collage style trees and wondered why she didn't add them to her current Etsy shop. Now I see why . . . she must have been waiting to open another! My favorite one listed so far is The Full Circle Tree - Fruitful - Collage Reproduction Print pictured here.

Shixie

A while ago I came across this really unique Etsy shop called Shixie. The shop sells necklaces and earrings (as well as a few other items such as ornaments) mostly in the shape of tiny dresses. An occasional car, chair, and animal can also be found. Most are made from recycled tin elements. It really adds a uniqueness to their pieces. Here are my favorites:

Recycled Tin Mini Dress Necklace- No. 69b Pink Flowers

Recycled Vintage Tin Mini Dress Earrings- No. 68 Apricot Flowers

La Vieja Tun Tun

Today I came across the Etsy seller La Vieja Tun Tun because she did this interview on the EtsyVeg blog. I really like reading interviews with Etsy sellers because I like to see where their inspiration comes from and their creative process. Plus it's nice to get to know a little bit about the person behind the craft. This helps me as I make things, and also lets me get to know crafty people as well. And of course I always like to support people that donate a portion of their proceeds to charity (especially animal charities)!
The necklace pictured is my favorite one from her shop and can be found here.

Instant Photography

I've been really interested and fascinated by instant photography lately, as well as images that have a vintage vibe to them. Here are some of the things I've been eyeing up lately :)

This instant camera

Also I've been making a ton of pictures into faux Polaroids using this website. Here are a few I made today.

I love the distorted colors so much!

Hello Deer :)

Last night I came across this adorable ceramic deer on Etsy. The figurine is handmade using a vintage mold. It definitely looks vintage to me even though it's new. I love stuff like that. I think the color is perfect too. I have to admit, I have a soft spot for animals with giant ears.

DC VegFest

On Saturday Karim and I went to the DC VegFest.! It was smaller than I thought, but it was still a lot of fun. There were tons of non-profits there all handing out free literature. There were some clothing vendors with cute pro-veggie shirts. And then of course there was a plethora of vegan food! There was a Falafel Shop, that was one of the most popular stand. There was Indian food and a vegan pizza stand too. And then there was my favorite, the dessert stands! I got a vegan brownie to eat there, then washed it down with some lemonade.
Sadly we got there too late to see the vegan bodybuilder speak, and we left before one of the authors from Skinny Bitch did, but at least we got to see a little bit of a cooking demo. After we were there for about an hour, it got really cloudy and windy, so we opted to head back to the metro so we didn't get caught in a downpour.

The longest line at any stand was definitely for the bakery Vegan Treats. After taking a mini cake home with me, I knew why. Sadly they are located about 3 hours away from me in Pennsylvania, but Karim and I already decided we would make the trip one day! Go check out their creative and adorable website to see their wonderful baked goods, and if you get the chance, visit them! It's worth it for sure!! I had their peanut butter cake, and it was seriously amazing. Who needs animal products?? :)

New Hair Flower!

I learned how to make hair flowers! This one and the sunflower I made are my favorites so far :)
It's almost the weekend and I'm super excited because I'm going to DC VegFest tomorrow!! Happy Friday :)

Handmade Jewelry with Tiny Hands!

While entering the giveaway from my last post, I was browsing through the links to the right of the screen on TokyoBunnie's blog, and found this ridiculously adorable website! All of their little tiny charms are made by hand using polymer clay! My favorites are the waffles and cupcakes pictured, as well as the little bubble tea! Go check out their website for more incredibly cute and tiny charms!

I also came across this site called Bored, Inc. Clearly my favorite thing about it is they have stickers, magnets, etc. with sayings like "Play with your weiner" and "Clean up after your weiner" with pictures of hot dogs. Since I have a dachshund I find these especially hilarious and fitting!

Giveaway!

Block Party Press

Recently I won my very first giveaway from the blogs that I follow. It was for an adorable beach ball ring from Block Party Press. Tamara, the owner of the Etsy shop and author of the blog, was so kind and sweet. She not only sent me the beach ball ring that I had won, but she also sent me a beautiful Fall inspired necklace as well. Each came wrapped in its own tiny gift box. As if this wasn't enough, she also sent me a coupon for a discount on my next purchase. I highly recommend visiting her Etsy shop ASAP. The jewelry is beautiful, and she is such a nice person. How can you go wrong? She has a lot of nice jewelry that would be perfect for gifts. Since the holidays are coming up, now is the time to start shopping!

Halloween Collar Giveaway!

It's A Vegan Dog's Life is having a giveaway right now for an adorable Halloween dog collar. All you have to do is leave a comment on the giveaway post about your favorite vegan food(s). The giveaway ends September 14th. Good luck!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!! I am sad that this is the unofficial end of summer. But trying to make the most of the cooler weather. Lily and I went on two 5.6 mile walks at the park, and also walked around the harbor this week. It wears her out and is good exercise for me. A win-win for sure! I hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Lily needs this

I'm not usually one to say Lily needs something. But I do believe she NEEDS this!

Just imagine it. Lily + tutu = adorable. It's undeniable.
