Austin was so much fun! I've been so busy since then it seems like. Austin is definitely not what you would think of when you think about Texas. It was so hip and eccentric. I loved it. I got to eat awesome vegan food the whole time too, which clearly makes it 1,000 times better in my book! Here are some pictures :)
Karim went to NY for the day while I was in Austin. He brought me back a pink stuffed labbit, a pair of earrings from the street market in Soho, and he even went to Tarina Tarantino for me and brought me back this ring :) I love it.
Have a great week!

MDSPCA and New Favorites!

I had my first day volunteering at the MDSPCA Saturday and it went really well! My favorite dog (who was thankfully already adopted) was a small pit bull that had been completely covered in paint. The SPCA had to shave off all of her hair to get the paint off, and there were spots where her skin had been rubbed raw. Her name was Picasso. I took her out in one of the fenced in areas and sat down on the cement. She plopped right down on my lap, legs dangling awkwardly off :)

I also walked this guy named Bruno (who is still looking for a home). So adorable!

It's a rainy Monday here, but the forecast for the weekend has me very happy :)

These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Tom Binns for Disney Couture Alice Bangle Bracelet
Flower Cluster Necklace
Farrah Ring in Snow White
Knitwit Bangle in Yellow (seriously, how unique is this??)
Anything from The Poppy Tree
Also, I just received this Acid Alice ring and Tuxedo Lingerie ring from Tarina Tarantino today. I am in love with them both (but especially the Acid Alice one!!). They are both pretty small and understated for Tarina Tarantino, but so perfect for wearing every day :)

Happy Friday to everyone!!

Acid Alice

Tarina Tarantino just launched her brand new collection called Acid Alice. It's a part of her Queen Alice collection, but all of the new pieces are in neon bright colors. Clearly, since I'm dying to go see the new Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland, I really like this collection. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

Have a great weekend :)

Halloween on the brain

The past few days I've really been struggling with my Halloween costume! I usually have it all ready to go by mid-October so I'm slightly panicking. I know I'm being Daphne from Scooby Doo at work, but need something for at night. Since I'll have to buy white boots already, I'm thinking I might just go for this hippie mod costume. At least then I'll get to wear the boots more than once.

And . . . I got to use my new Fuji Instax camera! The pictures are so cute :) I don't think Lily loves me taking her picture, but she needs to accept it! Taking her picture is one of my favorite things to do after all.

Also, right now here are the things I am in love with:

It's definitely chilly outside this morning. Feeling more like Fall every day! Happy Monday :)

Hi there :)

Love love love this ring from Etsy. And love that it's called guacamole ring :)

Just bought this Tarina Tarantino bracelet. I can't wait to get it in the mail!

Also, here is a wonderful picture of Karim and I dancing at Abby's wedding. I love it! It was taken by Deb Lindsey.

Happy Wednesday!!

Happy Hump Day!

Earlier this week I FINALLY ordered a Fuji Instax Mini in chocolate!! I have been wanting one for over a month now, but kept debating because of the price. I was originally going to order from Urban Outfitters, but they only had the white one. I found the brown one for an even cheaper price elsewhere and the film was cheaper too! I'm so happy I was able to find the chocolate colored one! It isn't supposed to ship for 1-3 weeks, but I'm already so excited to get it!
I've even started looking for a new cute pouch to keep it in. I'm thinking something similar to this.
A few weeks ago I ordered these two pouches for my lip gloss from the same Etsy Shop (The Dainty Squid) and was very pleased with them.

And on an unrelated note (other than it involves me spending money when I shouldn't be, but that's always a theme!) Tarina Tarantino has been my favorite jewelry designer since about 2000. I just can't get enough of her sparkly styles.
Right now I'm eyeing up the City Girl LA Mod Ring in silver. This is part of a new collection where Tarina is going to be designing pieces based on her favorite cities from around the world. LA is where she lives and where her jewelry is made (she calls it the Sparkle Factory), so that was the first city she chose. The woman reminds me of Kat Von D. I don't really watch her show regularly, but she seems awesome from what I've seen.
PS I upgraded my Etsy shop to a seller account!! I'm so excited! I have some handmade cards and hair flowers that I want to list soon. I just need to get some pictures of the hair flowers actually in my hair (makes sense right?!). More on that soon :)

TARINA TARANTINO

Tarina Tarantino is my favorite jewelry designer of all time. Hands down, without a question favorite. This is her newest book called "My Pretty." It is the story of The Wizard of Oz as interpreted by Tarina. If you want to get an introduction to her designs, I recommend buying this book from her website!

Her jewelry is so amazing. It is always unique and beautiful. Her designs continue to amaze and inspire me.

Celebrities that have been seen wearing her jewelry include Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, Pink, Kelly Osbourne, Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, Taylor Momsen, and Margaret Cho (just to name a few)!

All of her jewelry is created using the finest materials like Lucite and Swarovski crystals. And even better - it's all made in the US. According to Tarina, it's made in LA at "The Sparkle Factory."

Here are some of my favorites from my personal collection:

Barbie Cameo Charm Bracelet -

Small Crystal Barbie Medallion -

Carved Lucite Electro Cameo Mod Ring -

Large Carved Rose Bracelet (as worn by Cameron Diaz) -

Lucite Heart Toggle Necklace (I got this one at her store in Soho!)
Crystal Flower Earrings (I bought these to wear when I was June Carter Cash for Halloween!) -

Her website is www.tarinatarantino.com. She also has stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Milan, Italy.
