Bazaart

I was lucky enough to get to Bazaart at The American Visionary Art Museum yesterday and it was great! The highlights for me were:
1. Getting amazing vegan baked goods from Brunie's Bakery. The owner is so sweet (no pun intended :)) and the baked goods are seriously out of this world.
2. Finally meeting Lori from Loriola in person
3. Finding this amazing artist. I got four of her greeting cards and
already know I am going to have a hard time parting with them to mail to friends!
Have a great week!

Christmas Gift Ideas

Here are two great shops that I can personally highly recommend for cute and inexpensive Christmas gifts!
Jayne over at Pink Saguaro has added a bunch of cute new items. These are my favorites.

Also, MD Sparks has adorable handmade jewelry that is so reasonably priced. I'm planning on stocking up on earrings like these.
Good luck finding the perfect handmade gift :)

Lily

I managed to get a picture of Lily in her snuggie. She sat nicely for approximately 3 seconds and then proceeded to rip it off with her teeth! At least the picture is cute :)
And a picture of her after our 3 hour hike yesterday. That's a long time for those little legs to carry her! But she is such a trooper. She runs through the streams now with no problem, and she was out in front of me even at the end!

Happy Busy Monday!!

Stephanie Potter Photography

On Nov. 7th Karim and I had the pleasure of having our pictures taken by Stephanie Potter (actually now Mrs. Corwin). The pictures are so adorable. Here are my favorites :)

Doxies :)

To celebrate joining the Dachshund Team on Etsy, here are a few of my favorite dachshund related items (from members of the team too!)

This magnet

And this stocking

I was warned that having a dachshund means becoming obsessed with them. I wouldn't call it an obsession though. And if I don't call it that then it must not be :)

My Favorite Story

As an old man walked the beach at dawn, he noticed a young man ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them into the sea. Finally catching up with the youth, he asked him why he was doing this.

The answer was that the stranded starfish would die if left until the morning sun.

"But the beach goes on for miles and miles and there are millions of starfish," countered the other. "How can your effort make any difference?"

The young man looked at the starfish in his hand and then threw it to safety in the waves. "It makes a difference to this one," he said.

Nordstrom Semi-Annual Sale

Darn it Nordstrom!! Stop having sales that tempt me! I want this vintage inspired ring so bad!!

Thank god tomorrow is Friday!

Karim and I are getting pictures taken together this weekend so I'm so excited! I swear they won't be posed Olan Mills style. We met with the photographer, Stephanie Potter, and now I'm looking forward to getting them done even more. They are going to be really fun! I'll share them as soon as I get them back! Yay :)

Then after the pictures Saturday we're going to a bonfire. I think bringing supplies for vegan s'mores might be in order. Can you tell I can't wait for the weekend?!!

I hope everyone has a good one!

Etsy Teams!!!

I joined two Etsy teams yesterday!! I am so excited!

The first team is EtsyVeg. I have been following this blog for a few months now, and I am so honored to now be a part of the team! Growing up in a pretty rural area, it could be tough to find like minded people, but having a group like this really helps me renew my beliefs and reassures me I'm not the only one out there!

The second team is The Dachshund Team. Of course my dachshund, Lily, is a huge part of my life (she makes sure of it!) so it only seemed natural to join this team as well.

Please check out their sites!

And thank you to everyone on both teams for already making me feel so welcome :)

Dance :)

I've always admired dancers. Last week I finally got the courage to go into a dance studio and inquire about taking classes. So tonight I am going to try out a lyrical class. I am super excited. Yesterday I went and bought a leotard and tights (kind of a scary thing when you don't exactly have a "dancers" body) so I'm all ready! To celebrate, here are some dance inspired items for you :)

This ballet slipper necklace by White Trash Charms (that I've been eyeing for months now)
This tutu for dogs and cats (I think I've mentioned before how I want this for Lily, but I say it's worth another mention :)
These zebra print ballet flats (which I happen to own!)
And this print of bears dancing :Þ

Wish me luck tonight! I hope it's not a disaster :)
